★ Inspiration: the intro part was initially a 40 sec composition inspired by my sister's character (s.o. dark, mysterious with a past story) and since she seemed to like this one out of a few bunch, I went ahead and composed the rest according to the mood I was feeling which was something fantastical and mysterious.

Comment: “Left Hand” was my first full piano & orchestral composition.
I had a tendency to rely heavily on scores all my life but that year, I had this urge to play more freely without looking at any piano scores; I wanted to try making my own compositions in fall 2019. After a few short experimental pieces, I got inspired by my sister’s art project to make this piece. The piano part took me about 2 days and the orchestral part was done in a separate session.

Left Hand

It Blooms

Jan 1-2, 2020

★ Notes on the Music:
I imagined Lady Red thinking about why or how she became who she is.

[1] Intro: present (piano + choir) It takes place in one of her rooms. The atmosphere is calm and she is looking down at the pool containing a collection of blood. The reflection gazes back at her and Lady Red walks towards her throne thinking about how it all began.

[2] Flashbacks: (strings + piano) The young Lady Red lives in a chaotic era during which her family fights over political power. The war kills a lot of people including Lady Red's family; She's in sorrow, confusion, and fear. She realizes the need to put aside her feelings and her self in order to protect the city.

[3] The decision is made: Lady Red decides to take the throne.

Comment: This is the second piece I composed for my sister’s art project and specifically for Lady Red. As before, I composed the piano part first and added the orchestral and choir parts afterwards. The whole piece took about 2 days to compose and about a day to record.

Stars That Shine

Jan 13, 2021

★Music: Titled "Stars That Shine (2021)," this composition is a piano and orchestral piece, drawing inspiration from my favorite celestial objects: stars. Within this piece, my aim was to come up with sounds that emulate the radiant beauty of stars and create a whimsical atmosphere.

★Animation: I also wanted to try creating a short animated scene to go with this piece, portraying a character gazing up at the night sky.

★Comment: This particular piece was created while I was preparing my art portfolio in January 2021. I felt overwhelmed at the time, and creating this piece served as a method of escaping the stressful reality in a creative way. I had the urge to express myself musically because, at that moment, art felt like a means of making a living which in result took away the joy of drawing, whereas in music, I could do whatever I wanted without any boundaries.
